Wonder-BAU!

I skipped class!!
I don't have practical for physics this week
So my first class is 1pm
I hevent had lunch! And don't feel like going for class
I just accepted the NUS offer
Having mixed feeling, I am leaving Melbourne, this one of the greatest place on earth!
A bit emo!
So decided to skip chemistry!
I am really lucky that I have a friend like LIHui
She accompanied me! Although she have lunch already!

 So we went to WONDERBAO!
It is one of the best cheap eat! Based on the booklet from uni!
I wanted to go for times but cannot find the place
Yet, this time I managed to find it! It is in a sort of shopping mall, no wonder I cannot find it!
This small little shop sells delicious bao!
There is limited selection of bao!

i heardthat their ssoya milk is nice
it is homemade!

I have a braised pork belly bau with a taro bao
The taro bau is actually for LiHui, she loves taro very much!
The pork belly bau is pretty nice!
Not very salty, I like it!
It costs $4.2 which LiHui and I feel that it is quite expensive
The taro is $2 but quite weird, I mean the taste!

But this is a good place to hang out!
The view outside the shop is amazing!
It is a art street!
Love this to max!
Relax for an hour then go back uni!

DUMPLINGS!! XIAO LONG BAU!! Shanghai dumpling street!!

i love dumpling and xiao long bau
so to me today is my best day ever! i have both!!
it really worth queueing for 20 minutes!
DUMPLINGS and XIAO LONG BAU!!!

it's lunch time, 1pm so the queue is pretty long!
3 of us look at hr menu for less than 3 minutes and already made our mind what to order!
throughout the 20 minutes we talked about the inspection on train
okay, i really need to PRAISE THE LORD for this!
stroy begins....

we hopped into the tram at Lincoln square!
three of us was talking about my presentation yesterday
the tram is pretty packed!
there is a man standing behind me, he looks like a gangster like that, i m a bit scared!
then, out of sudden, he turn to the other man and said something then walk towards the lady sitting beside me, asking for her myki card!
SHIT, it is INSPECTION!!
and I didn't tap, immediately i walk to the tap machine(actually just beside me, where the man was standing) and tap my card
the man even tap my shoulder and told me that I am very lucky!
that means I WON"T GET FINES!
fyi, once the tram starts moving, you haven't /don't tap and only tap when the inspection starts, you need to be fine
because you are FREELOADING!!!
actually, the man can just come to check mine but he didn't!
i thank GOD for this! save me $200!
imagine how many nice food i can get with it! =)

back to the DUMPLINGS!!!
this is the pan-fried dumpling
inside it is filled with pork!
so nice!
a plate like this contains 15 dumplings!

we have pan-fried, sure we have steamed!
steam is a healthier choice but both are sooooo awesome!
yet, to me i prefer pan-fried, the "skin" for steam is a bit thick for me!

my favourite--- Xiao Long Bao!
it is really BIG!
JUICY!
comes in 8!

chinese pancake!
lihui's special order!
usually it is with veggie but sean likes bacon
so we have bacon!

hmm... to me, i don't see the difference between korean and chinese pancake
so me it's the same!

everything here is all below $10!
even the noodle and rice is also below $10
with this huge serving, you will be damn full!
I M TOO FULL already !

it is easy to fine, just see the queue : 342 Little Bourke St, Melbourne VIC 3000

DON TOJO on Wednesday!

i really love Japanese bento!
it is a full course meal!
see, got entree, mains, staple & fruits
it is so healthy
no wonder Japanese can live longer than the rest!

seeing myself through the reflection

so, i came to DON TOJO after my engineering presentation
it is near to the unimelb health centre at cardigan
i reached here at 12.15 yet it is packed already
luckily i found a spot to sit
fyi, sharing table is pretty normal in melbourne especially in self-served restaurant

of course, i ordered bento since i love it so much
it comes with sukiyaki beef and terikayi chicken
the sukiyaki beef taste pretty well
but the terikayi chicken is a bit bitter (PS: I also don't know why!)

the bento set is really HUGE!
i cannot finish the rice
this set cost me $9 which is a reasonable price for a bento

i saw people ordered curry katsu don that is about $6+
but i am sure that it is cheaper than the one in union house - EGG

it is a good place for quick lunch
not a place for you and your friends to hang out
it is so awkward to let people to stand beside you to wait for your table!

as uni melb students, it is definitely a place you MUST COME!
it is not hard to get here ~ 164 Cardigan St, Carlton VIC 3053

HUXTAAAAAAAA!!!!

Melbourne is famous with BURGERS!
yet, to be frank, I don't really like Burgers
to me, it is a bit unhealthy
however, since i want to be a Melbourian, i MUST TRY!

so here I am at HUXTABURGER
it is really hard to find this place!
i saw this on internet, under cheap eats (sorry, i am just a student, not rich , only can have cheap eats!)
tonight, lihui, sean & yewtong is with me!
i guess this will be my main FOOD TEAM!
Let's explore the good + cheap food in melbourne!

i look a bit nerd!

the shop is really super small, it is in an ally (usually restaurant in the ally is super nice!)
it is a burger shop!
so obviously sells burger, fries and drinks!

i ordered their HUXTABURGER
it is their famous one
notice that it is the name of the shop as well
it is nice!
the meat is juicy!
but i think what makes it special is the BUN!
it is not like normal burger bun but it is a bit like a type of  chinese  bun called space bun (tai kong bao)

Sean ordered their THEO
which is actually double!
but it is the same!

Yewtong love fries (i think)
last time went to grill'd he also ordered fries!
their fries is just normal!

hmmm... i remember my burger is $9 not sure about the rest

there is many outlet but we went to the CBD's one
this place is really hard to find, use google map!

HIS LOVE~

it is 1 am in Melbourne, i am sleepy but still feel like posting this!
i suddenly realised something....

God loves me
No matter what i have done, HE will still love me
HE won't compare me with others
HE won't judge me like others
HE accept who I am

HE leads me in my life
give me whatever i need
HE will only supply without demand anything from me
I can ask anything from HIM
and HE will make it comes true
Everything I need is just HIM

HE is just like a friend
a friend that will be in my side rain or shine
a person who will share my happiness and lend me a shoulder when i am down

HE is my father
to HIM, i am his child
HE will guild me in my life
when i have done something wrong, HE will teach me in his method
HE will forgive me and give me unlimited chances
HE already has plans for me
what I need to do it is just follow him
HE has planned everything for me
everything that i need

HE loves me for who I am
He never asked me to change
HE doesn't want me to change because HE just want me to be ME!
I can be myself in front of HIM, without wearing a mask
because HE knows me more than myself

I see changes in me because of HIM
i cannot describe the changes but i can feel it
i hope that what i am doing now is what he wants me to do
i want to follow what he planned for me
because i know that's the right path to go
i know that's want I really need and want

GIRT FROM GOD

is this real?
i don't really believe it!
with my shitty results i can enter NUS?
what's going on?
this is a gift from GOD?

let's recap what happened when i apply.....
my family always wanted me to go NUS/NTU
firstly, because they are prestigious university
secondly, near to home
thridly, cheaper (compare to Australia)
when i was young i don't mind going
yet, as i grow i notice that they are not easy to enter
even my damn smart seniors with CAL 3 A* cannot enter
and i m so scared!
so i decided to aim other universities
i wanted to go study overseas because i want to experience the culture difference
i wanted to go UK and US, actually just out of Asia will do
at the end, my parents said the furthest they allow me to go in Australia
that's the main reason why i m in melbourne university now!

with my SACE board Australia year 12 results, i don't think i m able to enter NUS/NTU
especially i am doing engineering
NTU even need me to take entrance test
i am a bit lazy and reluctant to apply
what if i don't even qualified to take the test? it is should of embarrass!

at that time, i already accept the offer from University of Melbourne
yet, my dad insisted me to have a try on Singapore universities
i missed the NTU deadline
so, i am been semi-forced to apply NUS
i log in the system a few times and cannot really apply, i almost gave up

as i mentioned, i am reluctant to apply
so i just simply fill the form, even the choice of course!
guess how i fill my course options?
you will never believe it!
i just went to QS subjects ranking of NUS then choose the highest ranking of engineering
i remember i put chemical engineering as my first choice then is electrical engineering then i FORGET!
choose chemical because i checked it ranks the highest plus i love chemical more than physics!
to me higher ranking = i won't get it
so happily i apply it and even send my document in the airport before i left to melbourne
to be frank, i don't even bother to check the module of NUS
i don't even know what bell-curve and need to take 5 module (in melbourne we called it subjects) in a year
the only thing i know is, i won't get in so no worries

now, i got an offer! an offer from NUS and it is CHEMICAL ENGINEERING!!
OMG! based on my ATAR, it is impossible!
is that a give from GOD for my birthday?
seriously, GOD can you tell me what to do?

Blocks @ the dessert box!

can you believe it?
this girl asked for dessert after dinner!
she doesn't like sweet stuff, totally opposite with me! (i have a sweet tooth!)
but we are best friend!

I believe that human should mix around with people which is 70% different!
if it is the same, life will be boring, not fun at all!
so, i guess my future boyfriend should be different from me!
it is like we can balance out each other

why am i going out of topic?
come back!!!

this place named "THE DESSERT BOX"
more that western dessert shop but owned my chinese
the decoration is pretty cosy
btw, we are having our dessert at 6.45pm! this is winter in australia!
as asian, we are too used to have dinner when the sky is dark
so that's why we gain weight (maybe only me! haha)

tiramisu golden block!
actually means toast!
it is special and ddelicious, not too sweet!
just nice!
2 person share one for dessert is fine!
(PS: love the presentation so much!)

we are getting closer
start making fun which each other

i really appreciate that LIHUI order this dessert!
she knows that i have sweet stuff and she doesn't really like it
but she has choose one that suit both of us!
gald that i have a friend like her!
if i really decided to go NUS, i will miss her very much!

where is it?? : 147 Lygon St, Carlton VIC 3053

THAI @ YING THAI 2

many Thai recommended this place to me, they claimed that it is the BEST thai restaurant in melbourne
it is located at lygoon street
i always wanted to try but lazy
so happened today got the feeling of eating it, so here i come, together with my awesome best friend, LIHUI!
anyway, it is just a small shop!
the decoration is super colourful!
to be frank, it don't look posh and you literally won't notice this shop when you pass by

we went there at 5.30pm (i know it is early but we are hungry after whole day of class!)
however, can you believe the place is packed already?

anyway, according to the reviews from urbanspoon, it is like super spicy!
I DON"T THINK SO! maybe because we only ordered pad that and tom yam soup.
it is not that spicy after all

Tom Yam Soup in Hot Pot with Chicken
the serving is huge (everything in Australia is in big portion)
not spicy nor sour!!
This is around $15

their famous PAD THAI!
the so called MUST TRY food if you come here!
it is sweet and spicy to me!
i choose pad thai with pork since we have chicken in the tom yam soup!

it is a great experience to have thai food!
to a student, it might be quite expensive but the portion is big
we cannot finish it and i even take away the leftover pad thai as lunch tomorrow!

in case u get lost  ~ 110 Lygon St, Carlton VIC 3053

I m at Vincent the dog!
Near lygon street.  Actual address : 348 Drummond
Why am I here? Having lunch with my project mate!
All boys and I m the one girl!

Engineering don't have many girls
Some group don't even have a girl
They are all Australia and I m the only Asian

Feel any different?  Not really
I think I can be considered as a melbourian already!

Should I leave this lovely place?
Confusing. ...
If I decided to leave, I will definitely miss my friends! :-D
